So, my beautiful wife comes up to me a couple days ago and says guess what?!? “McDonalds has a new southern style chicken sandwhich that looks just like Chic-fil-a. Annnnndddd they now have sweet tea!”
I’m all…yeah right, it’ll never come close to the goodness that is chic-fil-a. So, after rehearsal last night, we decide to swing by the McDonalds, and there it was…the southern style chicken sandwich. Not only does it look like the chic-fil-a that i know and love…it has it down to the two pickles insided. There is simply a bun, a chicken, and a couple pickles. OK…i’ll give it a try, and I’ll take some “sweet tea” too. (note, this is not nestle tea…i can see the thing they’ve brewed it in)
Now comes the real test…what does it taste like? Well…it’s as close as you can get without actually being the real thing. The chicken is obviously a bit different, as McDonalds goes. But the batter, taste, and texture are all very close.
Then, for the first time in New York City, I tasted real sweat tea. It’s incredible…and incredibly sweet. Nicely done Mc-fil-a.
It’s clear that they are blatently biting the sandwich that so many of us love and crave. What’s funny is even the cup that they serve the sweet tea in is a rip off of chic-fil-a. I mean it’s the same cup down to the top they put on it.
But, it’s hard to complain when there’s no chi-fil-a up here. Thanks Mc-Fil-A!!

Hey, not bad. Glad to see that if you close your eyes and try real hard you can almost have a real taste of home. I had Chic-Fil-A today – I’ve recently discovered their Buffalo Sauce – so now if I’m in the mood, I can have a Buffalo Chicken sandwich Chic-Fil-A style.
